1.5 miles double bank.
6 rods divided into 2 beats.
30 recognised pools of varied type, most with fairly easy access.

Fully Ghillied during the season.

The very scenic River Cassley flows into the Kyle of Sutherland at the head of the tidal water coming up from the Dornoch Firth.
The nearby village of Rosehall is 12 miles west of Bonar Bridge on the A837 road to Lochinver and 9 miles south-west from Lairg by the A839.

The Lower Cassley beats extend to 1.5 miles double bank fishing with over 30 recognised pools of varied type, and most of easy access suitable for all ages of fisherman.
For their length the Lower Cassley beats comprise some of the most prolific salmon fishing in Sutherland.
By agreement the right and left banks are fished in two beats which in rotation have the use of both banks.

Beat 1: From the A839 Bridge upstream to the Falls (marked Achness Waterfall on 1:50,000 Ordnance Survey)

Beat 2: From the Bridge downstream to the mouth of the river at the Kyle and (after the fish are over the Falls which form a temperature barrier in early spring) upstream from the Falls to the march with the Glenrossal beats (adjacent to the first cattle grid on the Glen Cassley road).

Rods change Beats at 13.00 hours each day so that tenants fish the whole river in the course of the day and start on a different beat each morning.

The River Cassley is a spate river however the Lower Cassley Fishings do contain some notable holding pools.

Whilst there are no fishing huts full facilities are available close by at the Achness Hotel where excellent good value food and accommodation is available. Rates from £65 per ppn for B&B. £95 DBB and for couples £180 DBB and £110 B&B. Speak with Liz for further info. 01549 441 239.
